About the client
Capital Construction Solutions – a Chicago-based company offering tools for improving the efficiency and safety of the construction business.
Challenge
The CCS company came up with the idea of reducing health risks at construction sites by taking advantage of the latest mobile and web technologies. A new tool was aimed to be used by responsible specialists to examine whether the workplace and construction processes meet all the safety criteria. It had to be not only efficient but also adaptive and easy to use on the go for all employees.
Solution
The client chose Vakoms to outsource the software development for being the experienced company with a wellknown individual approach. We carefully listened to customers’ ideas, understood their needs, and together decided to create a digital platform which was called CCS Safety.
This service gives security officers and employees the ability to report quickly on the situation at construction sites. This can be done by answering predefined safety questions, developed by the leading research universities and government agencies. All information is available to responsible company managers in real time.
The CCS Safety platform consists of the following tools:
iOS & Android apps for employees with an adjustable list of questions depending on the work category. Also, users can create and edit projects, upload pictures of issues, track and email specific safety issues, and resolve them
Back End analytical website for construction firm managers with real-time reporting system and performance dashboards to track up to 30 specific parameters. It allows to specify question lists and projects to app users, customize UX to each employee, run analytics and benchmarks results, and share “lessons learned”

Capital Construction Solutions was awarded Honorable Mention for the 2015 American Society of Safety Engineers Innovation Award for safety in the workplace.
The first release of CCS web and mobile service was rolled out just 2 months after the launch of cooperation. It became a real safety and expertise-sharing platform for construction projects, helping to mitigate health risks and providing a real-time equipment knowledge base for safety officers. Besides, this digital platform has dramatically reduced the amount of paperwork.
